Welcome to IT-Adventures
IT-Adventures is an innovative program that is dedicated to increasing interest in and awareness of technology among high school students. IT-Adventures, also known as IT-A, implements inquiry-based learning focused on three areas:
IT-A has partnerships with industry leaders, secondary education and post-secondary education. These partnerships develop educational programming and competitive events for the high school students. Students who participate in their high school’s IT-Adventures Club gain access to the educational material from Iowa State University and are able to consult technology professionals.
The capstone event for IT-A students is IT-Olympics on the Iowa State campus. High school students showcase their technology knowledge during the event, while family, the high school community and public are able to attend and network.
IT-Adventures Awarded with Iowa STEM Seal of Approval
The Iowa Governor’s STEM Advisory Council announced that two programs have received the Iowa STEM Seal of Approval—one being IT-Adventures. The Seal of Approval recognizes programs and events that are helping
advance the goals of one America’s most ambitious and effective state STEM initiatives. Read the press release here.
