Participant Information
All schools who register with IT-Adventures should check this web page frequently. Although we email information to the IT-Advisors (adult leader/teacher of the IT-Club), we also post the same content to this page so the club members (students) and the teachers have an easy way to retrieve it. This is also the page where the IT-Advisor will login to register students and IT-Mentors (IT professionals who help your club).
Registration to participate in the IT-Adventures program for the 2010-2011 academic year will open in mid-to-late September.
Please note: Because of financial constraints this year, the IT-Adventures program may be stricted in what it can provide to students coming to Ames to participate in the IT-Olympics. We are working to make sure we know what our boundaries are before we open registration this fall. Past participants will be notified of the changes in the email that lets you know registration is open.
If you are the advisor for a school that participated in the IT-Adventures program last year, you need to reapply for the program and enroll/re-enroll your students. If you have forgotten your username and/or password, email info@it-adventures.org and we will help you get access again.
If you are a teacher who is interested in joining the IT-Adventures program for the first time, you may want to watch
- a short video about IT-Adventures produced by Iowa Public Television
- a short PowerPoint slide show that talks about the basics of our program
If you wish to register your school in the program, you must be an adult advisor/teacher. It will may take up to 24 hours before your account is activated and you can register your students. You will receive a confirmation email back from us with your username and password once the account is activated.
You will need to register your students with the program as soon as your account is activated. We will need their name, grade in school and their email address. They will be emailed and asked to complete an online survey at the start of the program and then again at the end of the survey. This survey is to help us continue funding our program and provide the program at no cost to you.
Currently available:
- The list of what you receive in each venue when you sign up for IT-Adventures.
- Some of the learning materials are provided online. Other materials will be shipped to new schools starting approximately November 1.
- A list of schools who have signed up for IT-Adventures as registration progresses.
