Participant Information

The 2012 IT-Olympics will be April 27 & 28 in Hilton Coliseum on the Iowa State University campus.

All schools who register with IT-Adventures should check this web page frequently. Although we email information to the IT-Advisors (adult leaders/teachers of the IT-Club), we also post the same content to this page so the club members (students) and the teachers have an easy way to retrieve it. This is also the page where the IT-Advisor will login to register students and IT-Mentors (IT professionals who help your club).

IT-Olympics team registration is now open. Please make sure to enroll your students first in the IT-Adventures program before trying to add team to participate in the IT-Olympics. The deadline for team registration is March 19, 2012.

IT-Advisors for currently enrolled schools may log into the registration area to register their teams using their username and password. If you are an IT-Club advisor and have forgotten your username and/or password, email info@it-adventures.org and we will help you get access again.

IT-Advisors may also register their community service project and upload their team logos and/or community service project PowerPoint slide show now. The deadline to upload the slide show for the community service project and team logos is April 9, 2012.

Venue Document Available

The venue document which describes the competitions at IT-Olympics is now available. This document also describes the community service project and the team logo and name competition.

All teams must register their community service project and upload a PowerPoint slide show to be used in their presentations before April 9, 2012. There will be no late submissions. If a team does not submit a PowerPoint slide show and a description, there will not be a time slot for them to be judged and they will not be able to compete to receive community service points.

All team logos for the Best Team Logo must be submitted through the web site before April 9, 2012. No late logo submissions will be accepted. The format for the logo and the size requirements are contained in the venue document. If you do not have access to Adobe Illustrator to create your logo, download GIMP. It has many of the same features that can be used to create a logo.

All team names will be entered in the Best Team Name competition as of April 9, 2012. Any team names changed after that date will not be included in the Best Team Name Competition.

We have intentionally chosen to stay with Alice 2.2 for the 2011-2012 academic year. Although Alice 3.0 has been released in beta, there are not books or additional teaching materials available for it at this time. When a final release of Alice 3.0 will be available with a book. The IT-Adventures program will switch at that time.
